When is a cookie more than a cookie? When it conjures memories of family and friends sharing heartfelt conversations and quality time over the holidays. As the Rose Inc team wraps up a busy year of product launches, beauty awards and countless photoshoots, we’re taking a moment to celebrate what matters most: Spending time with the ones we love. Our team shares their favorite holiday traditions ahead.
“My favorite winter family tradition is hate watching really cheesy, low-budget, made-for-TV (or Netflix) holiday movies. We start after Thanksgiving Dinner every year and don’t stop until New Year’s! We intermix legitimately good holiday classics, but the bad ones are a real guilty pleasure.”
“My favorite family tradition is going on a weekend cabin trip somewhere in our surrounding mountain area in California. Whether it’s Big Bear, Lake Arrowhead or Mammoth, I can’t pass up homecooked meals, board games, movies and snow time with the family. The perfect getaway getting a new scenery while staying semi local.”
“The best tradition is baking sugar cookies! Using fun cookie cutters, decorating with frosting and sprinkles, and, of course, eating them!”
“I am the youngest of five children, so getting together for the holidays is always so much fun! Food has always been the center of any holiday celebration. While my mom and I usually do the cooking, the entire family is always in the kitchen trying steal a bite of food when they can. Lots of laughs and quality time together. This year will be extra special as we are expecting a new member to join the family!”
“My favorite winter family tradition is cooking a holiday feast together. Christmas is a big holiday for Filipinos, and on Christmas Eve, called Noche Buena, we typically have a midnight meal. This year, I’m looking forward to sharing my ube pie recipe and teaching my mom how to make it.”
“I’m Catholic and Jewish, so my family enjoys the best of both worlds during the holidays. My favorite tradition is our Christmas Eve — all our Jewish friends come over for a non-traditional feast of the seven fishes with sushi. On Christmas day, my family enjoys a Jewish Christmas — Knicks game or movie during the day, and Chinese food for dinner.”
“On Boxing Day, my family and I head to the local park and split into two teams to play Capture the Flag. It is super fun and by the end, we are normally exhausted and ready to head home for our second round of Christmas dinner.”
“My tradition is making our home as cozy as possible with decorations, a Christmas tree, warm drinks, fires in the fireplace, wearing a robe as much as possible and thick socks. Anything to counter cold winter nights makes me happy.”
“After my siblings and I grew up, my family stopped giving gifts. But every year, without fail, we end up doing an unplanned-yet-unsurprising gift exchange.”
“Nights in are always better in winter. We count down each night before the holidays with a classic Christmas movie and bourbon, neat. Christmas in Connecticut and The Shop Around the Corner are always at the top of my list.”
